This project allows for a plethora of uses, but initially it was constructed to help with managing lottery pools as well as providing a paper trail for the tickets of each pool.

The terms and conditions of this project are outlined at the homepage using the appropriate link at the bottom of the site.

Privay Policy

This is also covered at the homepage using the appropriate link at the bottom of the site.

User Interface

The user interface of this project has been built for easy interaction with everything being accessible within two clicks. The layout is simplistic with all navigation links at the top or bottom of the screen. For an indepth overview of each link, please see the desired section(s) below.

This title bar option represents access to the intrasite communication that acutally utilizes one of our other projects, Threads. Instead of going over the details here about the inner-workings of that software, please see our wiki page by clicking here.

Home

Just as the name implies, clicking this option will take you to the homepage of the website which provides you with an overview of the project. This area is information only, just as the terms and conditions and the privacy policy.

Pools

The bulk of all interaction with the site will be conducted here. This screen is broken down into three segments - created, invitations, and memberships as defined below:

  • Created

This section refers to the lottery pools that you have created. By default there obviously won't be anything listed here, so to get started, simply click the "New" button. This will present you with a popup that requests certain information about the pool you want to create. The first field refers to your own description of the pool you want to create and becomes the title that is shown in the various sections on this screen. The second option asks for the number of balls that are used in the lottery game that the pool represents. For example, the Florida Fantasy 5 lottery game uses five balls, so "5" would be entered for this fields value. The next two options allow you to define what the pool buy-in amount is and how many tickets each person has to contribute to the pool. Using the same lottery game in the example above, all the tickets cost $1 and lets say that each pool member needs to contribute 2 tickets. The values here would be "1" and "2" respectively. The final field on this popup defines the date that the lottery drawing is conducted on, and after filling in this value, click the "Create" button to complete this step. Please note that all members of each pool MUST complete their ticket numbers and other information 24 hours BEFORE this date to give the pool administrator time to get the tickets before the drawing occurs!

After creating a pool, you will most likely want to invite others into it, after all it's not much of a pool with one member! This can be accomplished by selecting which pool(s) you would like to invite members into and then clicking the "Invite" button. By doing so, you'll be presented with another popup that allows you to enter each members username that you would like to invite, one at a time and clicking the "+" button each time. To remove any members from the list, you can simply highlight them and click the "-" button. After the member list is completed, simply click the "Invite" button to send invitations to those members. Any that are not found will have an email sent to your account that can be found under the "@" option from the title bar at the top of the screen.

To see all the members that have accepted your invitation, click on the pool name from the list and yet another popup will be displayed containing a list of all the invited members with check marks placed by each that have accepted. If, for some reason, you decide to remove any members from the pool, simply uncheck the box by their name and those members will immediately be removed.

You might be wondering what the "Copy" button is for. It is simply a way to copy a previously defined pool so that you don't have to re-enter all the information with the exception of the "Date of drawing" obviously. After updating that value, the pool will show-up in the list of lottery pools you've created.

The layout of the list in this section consists of 5 pieces of information. First you'll find a checkbox that marks that pool as receiving some of the various actions outlined above. Next is an "X" icon that deletes the corresponding pool and is followed by the buy-in price and lottery drawing date respectively. The final field is the descriptive name you have given to the lottery pool. If this field is shown as bold, then that indicates entry or exit of membership into or out of the pool.

  • Invitations

Here you'll find all the invitations to pools that other members have created and invited you into. This section doesn't have very much interaction and boils down to basically selecting which pools you would like to join by clicking the checkbox next to those pools and then click the "Join" button. After joining any pools, you'll notice the entry is removed from this section and placed into the "Memberships" section that we'll cover below. Lastly, the fields that make up the list shown here is the same as it is defined above with the exception of the delete icon.

  • Memberships

After accepting an invitation into another members lottery pool, you can find that membership listed in this section. At any time that you would like to leave any of these pools, simply check the box next to those pools and click the "Leave" button. Contrarily, for those that you would like to participate in, click on the name of that lottery pool and you'll be presented with a popup. This will present you with the ability to define your ticket numbers with either your own numbers or "quick picks" (random numbers). If you select the option to enter your own numbers, they are automatically saved once all the numbers have been entered. You can also see the list of other members and their selected numbers so that you can see which combinations to avoid to prevent duplicate tickets.
